Akwa United FC travel to face Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored Rangers on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Having secured a 1-0 victory over Enugu Rangers in the first-leg at the Eket Stadium before the league’s mid-season break, the Promise Keepers are eager to replicate their success on opposition territory.

Currently positioned 16th on the league table with 21 points from 19 matches—comprising 5 wins, 6 draws, and 8 losses—Akwa United seeks to bolster their record away from home, having only managed one draw in nine previous away fixtures, scoring six goals while conceding 19.

With hopes of repeating their triumph at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Akwa United is bolstered by recent squad reinforcements acquired during the mid-season transfer window, including former captain Ubong Friday and Mustapha Dan-Azumi from Gombe United, among others.

Despite their initial struggles in the first half of the season, Akwa United remains determined to ascend the league standings in the second half, as expressed by caretaker coach Umar Abdullahi, who is optimistic about the team’s prospects with their strengthened roster.

The highly anticipated match is scheduled to kick off at four o’clock in the afternoon, on Sunday, February 18.
